The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery exists to provide comprehensive, integrated orthopaedic programs for patients, students, residents, fellows, the University community and the people of Arizona. The foundation of these programs is excellent clinical services that give rise to intellectual integrity in research and education.

Orthopaedic surgeons treat diseases, injuries and conditions of the body’s muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons.  The University of Arizona Medical Center orthopaedic surgeons provide outpatient care, and perform general and specialized surgeriesThese physicians are the only providers of orthopaedic trauma services in Southern Arizona, and care for athletes at the University of Arizona and Pima Community College, as well as for many local high school students.
