Peg Chilvers, MD
Dr. Chilvers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Sugery at The University of Arizona who is fellowship trained and specializes in foot and ankle injuries. Dr. Chilvers' career began as an athletic trainer with The University of Arizona Athletics Department. After three years, she decided to pursue a career in medicine and attended medical school at Southern Illinois University. She returned to The University of Arizona and completed her residency training with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She finished her education with a fellowship in foot and ankle medicine at the Michigan International Foot and Ankle Center where she was an AO Fellow. Following her fellowship, Dr. Chilvers was hired at MIFAC as a foot and ankle specialist where she worked until her return to Arizona in 2009. She currently practices at the The University of Arizona Medical Center - Sports Medicine Clinic on the The University of Arizona Medical Center - South Campus and the Human Motion Institute at 707 N. Alvernon Way.
Gregory L. DeSilva, MD
Dr. DeSilva is an Associate Professor and Director of the Residency Program at The University of Arizona Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and is board certified and fellowship trained in hand and upper extremity. Dr. DeSilva earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed his fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Union Memorial Hospital, Curtis National Hand Center, in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. DeSilva is board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and maintains additional ABOS certification in the sub-specialty of hand surgery. Dr. DeSilva was recruited to The University of Arizona from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where he honed his skills in upper extremity trauma. Dr. DeSilva was Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Detroit Receiving Hospital and President of the Detroit Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. DeSilva's area of special expertise focuses on traumatic/post-traumatic reconstruction of the elbow, forearm, wrist and hand. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and serves on numerous national committees. He currently practices at the Human Motion Institute at 707 N. Alvernon Way.
William A. Grana, MD, MPH
Dr. Grana is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Grana received his medical degree from Harvard University in 1968 followed by an orthopaedic residency at Barnes Hospital, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. In 1995 he went on to pursue a master's degree in public health administration and policy from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Grana has been a medical staff member of the United States Olympic Committee Medical Staff at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, Head Physician for the U.S. team at the 1987 Pan American Games and a physician member of the 1985 U.S. Olympic Committee's Winter World University Games in Italy. Dr. Grana served as a consultant to the Chicago White Sox when they were in Tucson and also as a consultant for The University of Arizona Athletics through 2008. Most recently, in 2009 he received the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, one of only 40 such honorees over the last three decades. He currently practices at the The University of Arizona Medical Center - Sports Medicine Clinic on The University of Arizona Medical Center - South Campus.

L. Daniel Latt, MD, PhD
Dr. Latt is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Latt earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2002. He completed residency training in orthopaedic surgery at McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 2007. He has fellowship training in sports medicine from Kaiser San Diego, and foot and ankle surgery from Duke University. Dr. Latt specializes in the care of athletic injuries of the shoulder, knee, ankle and foot. He is particularly interested in complex lower extremity reconstruction and realignment, cartilage injuries, patellofemoral disorders and arthroscopy of the ankle, knee and shoulder. He has a special interest in the treatment of ankle arthritis using total ankle replacement. Dr. Latt currently practices at The University of Arizona Medical Center - Sports Medicine Clinic on The University of Arizona Medical Center - South Campus and the Human Motion Institute at 707 N. Alvernon Way.
John T. Ruth, MD
Dr. Ruth is a Professor and the Department Head for the University of Arizona Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with his specialty training in Trauma. He received his medical degree from The University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona and completed his residency at Clevelan Clinic Foundation, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Cleveland, Ohio. He continued his education and completed a fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology at Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems in Baltimore, Maryland. He currently practices at the Human Motion Institute at 707 N. Alvernon Way.
Joseph E. Sheppard, MD
Dr. Sheppard is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in Hand and Upper Extremities. He received his medical degree and completed his residency from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. He also completed a research fellowship in microsurgery at University of Florida, Department of Orthopaedics, Gainseville, Florida. Dr. Sheppard is a Professor in the Department Orthopaedic Surgery for The University of Arizona Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Sheppard has been practicing orthopaedic surgery since 1986; with The University of Arizona Department of Orthopaedic Surgery since 2001 at the 707 N. Alvernon Way location.
Jordan L. Smith, MD
Dr. Smith joined The University of Arizona Medical Center and the faculty of The University of Arizona Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington, completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at The University of Arizona in 2008, followed by an orthopaedic trauma fellowship from Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2009. Dr. Smith did additional training as an AO Fellow in Germany following his CMC fellowship where he studied computer assisted surgery. He returned to Tucson to join the team of Dr. John Ruth and Dr. Lisa Truchan, Southern Arizona's only orthopaedic trauma surgeons. Dr. Smith specializes in fracture care, treatment of fracture nonunions and malunions, management of pelvic and hip fractures, and limb salvage. Dr. Smith's clinical practice is centrally located at the Human Motion Institute at 707 N. Alvernon Way.
Lisa M. Truchan, MD
Dr. Truchan is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and an Assistant Professor at The University of Arizona Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Originally from Flint, Michigan, she obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology from the University of Michigan-Flint. She continued her education at Wayne State University School of Medicine for both her Medical Doctorate and residency certification. She completed her formal education with a trauma fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Truchan is a member of the American Medical Association, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Dr. Truchan specializes in orthopaedic trauma and pediatric fracture care and has been practicing with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery since 2005 at the Human Motion Institute at 707 N. Alvernon Way.
