Founded in 1994 by Dr. Andrew Weil, UPH Integrative Medicine takes account of the whole person – body, mind and spirit – and includes all aspects of the patient’s lifestyle. UPH integrative medicine physicians do not offer diagnostic services, but instead provide patients with access to a wide spectrum of conventional and alternative therapies for illnesses or disorders diagnosed by another provider.
As part of an education program within the University of Arizona's College of Medicine, the integrative medicine clinic also acts as training ground for the next generation of integrative medicine providers. Special Programs
Integrative Medicine physicians offer referrals to alternative treatment programs not available at UPH, including yoga, nutrition, Chinese medicine, hypnotherapy, and massage. Referrals can be coordinated by calling (520) 626-6489.
Community Outreach
Integrative Medicine physicians conduct conferences and workshops for the general public. Refer to www.integrativemedicine.arizona.edu/conf/ for a schedule of upcoming events.
Major Areas of Research
UPH Integrative Medicine physicians contribute scientific research on the integration of alternative medicine with conventional medicine.
