Arizona Center on Aging addresses the health and human welfare of older adults through integrated research, education and excellence in health care and service. The center works to advance the scientific study of aging, offer interdisciplinary education and clinical training, and provide clinical and community service to Arizona’s aging population.

Community Outreach
The University of Arizona Medical Center Geriatrics physicians are a resource on aging issues to the community. They sponsor and participate in conferences and training events, and work with other community organizations to support Arizona’s older adults.
Geriatrics Grand Rounds lectures are open to health care professionals and interested community members. They are hosted the third Tuesday of each month.

Major Areas of Research
The University of Arizona Medical Center doctors are involved in interdisciplinary research projects to improve the care and health outcomes of vulnerable older adults. The College of Medicine and the geriatrics section conducts research in collaboration with the University of Arizona Colleges of Nursing, Public Health and Pharmacy.
