PATIENT CARE PROGRAMS
UPH Neurology also offers many exceptional patient care programs. For more information on the following programs call (520) 694-8888 or (800) 524-5928.

The Arizona Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is a major resource center for patients with epilepsy, their families and the health care professionals who treat them. Services offered range from consultations to clinical trials of anti-epileptic drugs to psychosocial rehabilitation.

The Comprehensive Stroke Program was developed to coordinate three major areas relating to stroke: patient care, education and research, with a major focus on prevention. Patients are referred for all issues related to stroke.

The Headache Management Program is Southern Arizona’s only comprehensive program devoted to treating headache pain. Patients can overcome the disabling effects of headaches through the help of neurologists and other specialists including physical therapists, pharmacists and psychologists.  The foundation of this program – education and self-management – is a collaboration between physician and patient, focusing on the individual needs of the patient. This program teaches each patient how to gain a better understanding of what causes their headaches and how best to control them.

The Movement Disorder Clinic specializes in disorders that affect movement such as Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Chorea, ataxia, tremor, dystonia and torticollis.

The Behavioral Neuroscience, Alzheimer's and Memory Disorders Clinic focuses on patients with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias, behavioral consequences of stroke, head injury and seizure, adult learning disabilities and attention-deficit disorder, behavioral aspects of movement disorders, and atypical psychiatric disorders.

The Vertigo and Ataxia Clinic is a monthly clinic for patients with dizziness of unknown cause, vertigo, gait imbalance of unknown cause, nystagmus and gaze difficulty, and cerebellar ataxia.

At the Neurophysiology Laboratory, UPH neurologists conduct and interpret electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies as well as Evoked Potential Testing.  The Neurophysiology Laboratory is a full-service electrodiagnostic facility devoted to providing timely access to testing services with same-day, rapid reporting. Testing services are available to patients of all ages, including children and infants.

The Neuromuscular Clinics specialize in a multi-disciplinary approach to diagnosis and care of patients suffering with diseases of peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction and the motor neurons.  Services are available to patients of all ages, including children, conveniently located at the Neurology Clinic at UPH Hospital and on the Mucio F.
