Construction Update
The construction on the Behavioral Health Pavilion and Crisis Response Center continues to run ahead of schedule.  Here are a few notable accomplishments and future projects:

• All of the walls have been constructed and painting has begun.
• Currently, the construction crew is working on connecting the new BHP with the existing hospital. 
• A detailed move-in plan will be completed by the end of November.
• Three Project Town Hall meetings have been held for The University of Arizona Medical Center - South Campus staff and the Project Management Team is presenting project updates at UPH Hospital departmental meetings upon request.
• The University of Arizona Medical Center - South Campus and CPSA continue to educate the community about the new buildings at health fairs and community events.
• The Communications Team has begun preliminary discussions about the Grand Opening Event for the BHP and CRC.

About Behavioral Health Pavilion
The BHP will contain behavioral health inpatient beds, a new Emergency Department, Psychiatric Outpatient Clinics, a new Information Technology Data Center, and a Pima County Courtroom.

The CRC will provide psychiatric urgent care services to youth and adults. It will provide a center for law enforcement and first responders to which they can transport individuals in need of psychiatric services and provide a much needed relief to emergency departments.

Ultimately the buildings will be designed to work together (BHP & CRC) permitting the expansion of the scope and size of the behavioral health continuum to the community. Triage settings throughout the campus will utilize the holistic, integrated service model and screen presenting patients for behavioral as well as medical conditions.

Working in concert with Pima County Health Affairs and the Community Partnership of Southern Arizona (CPSA), we are all working on a completion date of Summer 2011.
