UNIVERSITY PHYSICIANS HEALTHCARE HOSPITAL (UPHH)
The University Physicians Healthcare Hospital is a publicly funded facility.  It includes inpatient, outpatient, surgical facilities, state of the art cardiac catheterization lab, and the only level one psychiatry facility for southern Arizona.  It is also a premier stroke center and participates in therapeutic hypothermia in cardiac arrest.  It serves as a base station for Southwest Ambulance (the largest EMS service in the area) and for Tucson Airport Authority.  This facility is staffed by The University of Arizona faculty.  During the first year of residency training, the majority of the time is spent at this facility.

UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER (UMC)
Residents will have the opportunity to rotate at the University Medical Center.  This facility, located near the campus of the University of Arizona (UA), is adjacent to the UA College of Medicine, and affords all the benefits of a university teaching hospital.  This facility has just opened a brand new state of the art emergency department and Children's Diamond Center.
