Notification Requirements

  1. The Program Director or the Department Head will notify the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office in writing of his/her intent to impose any disciplinary action upon a resident and will provide notice to the resident as described below.

  2. The Program Director or the Department Head will send copies of the Notice of Action, any correspondence, response, findings and appeals relating to the disciplinary action to the GME Office.

  3. The GME Office will forward copies of all such documentation to the Chair of the Graduate Medical Education Committee, the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education, the Dean for Academic Affairs and the University Attorneys' Office.
