Welcome New Housestaff

Welcome to the University of Arizona College of Medicine at South Campus! We are pleased that you have chosen to complete your graduate medical education training with us. We are committed to providing you with the best possible education in a supportive learning environment.

The UA COM at South Campus Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) is responsible for monitoring all aspects of residency education. The Program Director from each training program is a member of this committee, as are residents. We would encourage each of you to consider participating on this committee – we listen to and appreciate resident involvement.

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredits all of our residency programs. The ACGME establishes national standards for graduate medical education and through specialty specific Residency Review Committees (RRCs), each program is carefully evaluated and reviewed.

Please note that you may be required to attend four (4) orientation sessions (if applicable to your program). Your program coordinator will provide you with the details and schedules.
