PHILOSOPHY
We will provide excellent, individualized, ACGME-accredited training for the general internist in an environment unique for its exceptional faculty-to-resident ratio and distinct population.
ATMOSPHERE
The atmosphere is more personal than larger programs, yet offers the benefits of large university-sponsored residency programs.
LENGTH OF PROGRAM
We provide three years of supervised graduate medical education in Internal Medicine in accordance with ACGME requirements.
NUMBER OF RESIDENTS
Four internal medicine residents will be selected each year.
EXPERIENCE
Clinical: Residents will be based out of The University of Arizona Medical Center - South Campus and will have experience in rural medicine and care for underserved populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. With just four Internal Medicine residents in a diverse community-based setting, residents will have ample learning opportunities and receive individualized attention from our renowned physicians and clinical staff.
Didactics: In addition to attending rounds on wards and in outpatient clinics, there will be required conferences including morning reports, Grand Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality. Some conferences will be shared with other Internal Medicine residents via teleconference.
Research: The program supports and fosters research interests at an early stage by identifying University of Arizona College of Medicine faculty mentors for housestaff.

A full application consists of a completed formal application, personal statement, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, Dean's letter, transcripts and USMLE scores.
