Headache Management Program

University Physicians Healthcare Headache Managment Program is Southern Arizona's only comprehensive program devoted to treating headache pain. Patients gain the ability to overcome the disabling effects of headaches through the help of neurologists and other specialists including physical therapists, pharmacists and psychologists.

The foundation of this program - education and self-management - is a collaboration between physician and patient, truly focusing on the individual needs of the patient. This program teaches each patient how to gain a better understanding of what causes their headaches and how best to control them.

With an exclusive, multi-disciplinary approach that combines the input of gynecological oncologists, surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiologists, nutritionists and genetic counselors, UPH helps women take preventive action to lower their risk for these types of cancer.

These specialists are also finding new methods for early detection of ovarian cancer and will offer the newest prevention drugs including synthetic retinoids and natural cactus products.

Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences

UPH ophthalmologists are helping people with cataracts become less dependent on glasses and contact lenses. After implanting a new multi-focal lens in the eye after cataract surgery, most patients experience improved vision at several distances without the aid of eyeglasses or contact lenses. The procedure requires only a small incision in the eye, leading to a quick recovery and renewed eyesight.
